Lily St. Pierre Earns 2019 Ryan P. Quinn Memorial Award
The Board of Directors of the Worcester Educational Development Foundation, Inc. (WEDF), is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2019 Ryan P. Quinn Memorial Award is Lily St. Pierre. A senior at Burncoat High School and an accomplished student-athlete, Lily is the daughter of Tracy and Joseph St. Pierre of Worcester.
As a senior, Lily was selected as the captain of the girls’ varsity soccer team, a sport in which she has excelled since the 8th grade. During off-seasons, Lily has participated in both indoor and outdoor track. Academically gifted as well, Lily is a member of the school’s National Honor Society. She is also employed at Stop and Shop. Lily will attend the University of New Hampshire and intends to pursue a career in exercise science.
The award will be presented to Lily St. Pierre on July 15, 2019, at the Ryan P. Quinn Memorial Golf Tournament at Wachusett Country Club.
Background:
Ryan P. Quinn, Burncoat High School class of 1996, was a star soccer player and avid golfer, earning varsity letters for both sports. Continuing his education at Salve Regina University, Ryan went on to have a successful career in sales in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. Ryan was a kind and special person with many devoted friends. Sadly, Ryan passed away in June of 2014.
In memory of Ryan, the Quinn family and thoughtful donors are generously sponsoring the Ryan P. Quinn Memorial Award for graduating varsity athletes of Burncoat High School.
